Eric has seen the inside of more hospitals and rehab centers than the average lawyer in the field of special ed. Almost 30 years ago he entered his first hospital with a spinal injury due to a diving accident. Several months later, he left with a wheelchair, and went on to extensive rehabilitation.
A successful law career and 30 years later, Eric found himself back on his back in the hospital, thanks to serious wheelchair related wounds. And then the hospital-rehab-hospital grind started again. Eric was in and out of rehabilitation centers and hospitals five times in less than two and a half years. When it came to care, he'd seen it all, from impenetrable administrative bureaucracies, to food so bad his wife had to bring him extra large dinners so he'd have something left over for lunch the next day.
So when White Plains Hospital recommended Port Chester Rehabilitation Center as the "best wound care" available in Westchester, Eric didn't have very high expectations.
He was surprised. Port Chester's staff welcomed him with open arms, and hearts. "The nurses and daily staff really cared about everyone," Eric marveled. They were attentive to his needs and truly concerned about his welfare. "They were always there if you expressed a need," he said. The warmth of their concern made him immediately feel comfortable at Port Chester.
Eric was embraced by the Port Chester family on all levels. Carol, Port Chester's administrator, speaks individually to all patients about their needs and desires. "Carol is so hands on, so easy to contact," Eric said. Questions, comments, complaints… Carol was available to discuss any and all of them.
"The care is really exceptional," Eric declared without hesitation. "Their wound care is excellent… there should be a waiting list to get in." |
