Millions of Americans suffer from chronic wounds caused by diabetes,
vascular disease and other conditions, and these hard-to-heal
wounds can only get better with constant medical intervention.
Port Chester Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre is at the forefront
of comprehensive wound care, providing residents with the most
advanced wound care technologies coupled with attentive and compassionate
care
Our dedicated wound care team has scored impressive achievements
in the treatment of Stage 1-4 wounds, developing specific care
plans for each patient while offering them the best quality of
life possible in an environment of caring.
Our medical director, wound
care nurses, infection control nurse, physical and occupational
therapists and a dietitian comprise our skilled and experienced
team. With strong community ties, our affiliated physicians in
plastic surgery, general surgery, dermatology, podiatry, vascular
and infectious disease provide consultation and service.
Upon admission for wound care, patients are evaluated
by the wound care team to assess the wound for size, granulation,
odor and drainage. Our multi-disciplinary approach includes the
use of IV antibiotics, specialized air mattresses, infection
control techniques and state-of-the-art equipment and devices,
such as the negative pressure vacuum-assisted wound closure for
reduced healing time and pain management. Pain management is
a primary focus when treating wounds.
In addition to a focus on wound healing, we treat the "whole" individual,
offering physical and occupational therapy, recreation programs
and activities and healthy, balanced meals served three times
a day in our beautiful dining room. Because nutrition plays such
a key role in the healing process, our registered dietitian provides
counseling and patient/family education on healthy and nutritious
eating and also customizes a diet for each resident.
As a leader in wound healing, we have compiled Educational Brochures
on various wound-care related topics as a service to the community.
Our experts are available to speak about these issues. For more
information, please call (914) 937-1200. We accept
admissions 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week.
